New in SIM for Things Portal and APIs
New device property view for your endpoint
-
When troubleshooting an endpoint, you can now look up the device attached to it, so that you can confirm what hardware sits in your deployment and check it supports the technologies your use case needs.
-
Available at enterprise level, from the endpoint's Diagnosis tab.
-
The Device Properties panel shows: "Device Type", "Manufacturer", "Marketing Name", "Model Name", "Release Date" (the year the device was released) and "Supported RAT" (for example 2G, 3G, 4G).
-
"Supported RAT" tells you which radio access technologies the device supports, so that you can check a device against the coverage your deployment relies on.
-
Account menu improvements
-
The page header now shows the current account level and account name, so that you always know which account context you are working in.
-
A new My Profile page gives you your session and personal details in one place.
-
Editable by you: Name, Email.
-
View only: Role, Login Name, Account, Start date (the date your user was created).
-
-
For reseller account support users, the Support Access experience now shows an access path. The hierarchy of accounts traversed and lets a support session return one step to the previously accessed account, or jump straight back to the original account, without logging out.
Automatic logout after inactivity
-
The portal now logs you out automatically after 45 minutes of inactivity, so that an unattended session cannot be left open. You are returned to the login page and sign in again to continue.
eSIM management improvement
-
Where an eSIM operation has been requested but has not yet returned a result, the eUICC event now shows a status of IN PROGRESS, so that you can tell a request that is still running from one that has not been sent.
-
Applies to profile download, set fallback and enable operations.
-
Once the result arrives, the event updates to its final outcome as before. Where an operation partially succeeds, the event shows Success with Warning.
-
API
-
Added new Bulk Delete Endpoint API to delete multiple endpoints in a single request, so that you can clean up endpoints in volume instead of one call at a time.
-
The API is asynchronous: it returns a
JobId, and you retrieve the outcome from the existing Job Status API, which returns a success list and a failure list with a reason per endpoint. -
Endpoints where a SIM is still linked are rejected with the reason "Delete Endpoint is not allowed. Please De-Link SIM first".
-
Processes up to 4000 endpoints in a single request.
-
Deletion is permanent. A deleted endpoint is removed from SIM for Things and cannot be restored.
